Benefits of a Hot Stone Massage and Touch Stone Reiki Treatment
Hot Stone Therapy Massage is a 5,000 year old therapy which finds its roots in ancient Mayan, Chinese and Indian cultures. It is as much an art as a technique which depends on the creativity of the qualified therapist. Hot Stone Massage uses heated, smooth Basalts stones that are gently massaged throughout your body (back, arms, legs & feet). You instantly feel comfort, warmth and relaxation.
Another technique that can be used is Touch Stone Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Energy”. Everything around us is energy including yourself and Reiki helps to balance this energy. I like to look at it as giving your car a tune up. A car has a working engine, that over time the mechanics of the engine get clogged up, or debris accumulates in different parts of the engine. We give our car a tune up and as people, we need to give our bodies a tune up as well. Some people have different “debris” that accumulate within our bodies, in different areas that need to be “cleaned up”. Reiki serves to do this (among numerous other benefits). When Reiki is combined with Hot Stones (which are placed on various points of the body) the client leaves with a sense of calmness and peace.
Benefits of a Hot Stone Massage and Touch Stone Reiki Treatments are as follows:
- Reduction of headaches and migraines
- Detoxifies your body
- Stress management
- Overall feeling of well being
- Relaxes your muscles and tissues
- Improves circulation
- Aid in helping with depression, insomnia, anxiety, arthritis and back pain
- Helps to balance your body, mind and soul
By the end of a treatment you feel very relaxed and connected with your world.
Why not give it a try……your worth it!!!

Sometimes we get into the habit of judging other peoples actions and lifestyles.
Make today the day that you accept people for who they are – not for who you think they should be…

How to Keep Your Mind Focused When You Have a 100 Things to Accomplish
Our minds never stop. We keep thinking and thinking and worrying and figuring things out over and over again. You wake up in the middle of the night wondering if you finished this, or unplugged that or how to find more time to relax in your life. The list goes on and on until we suffer from burnout. I sometimes wonder did our parents have so much on their minds that they woke themselves up from a deep sleep. I don’t think so or perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps they did and we just didn’t see it!
I have found lately that I need to focus more in my life and I have come up with a few tips to help that happen.
- Sit down and write a “focus” list. Some people may call this a “to-do” list but I find there is more impact when you use the word focus as it trains your mind to think differently. In my experience we will always have something “to do” so when we “focus” it brings our attention to the tasks at hand.
- Pick something at the beginning that is easy to accomplish. If you start your “focus” list with something so big and overwhelming you might just set yourself up for failure if you don’t accomplish it. Sure it might be a game we play in our heads but that’s ok we are getting it done.
- Celebrate your accomplishments. We will always have something we want to accomplish so when we have completed our task celebrate it in some way. It doesn’t have to be big (but it can be if you want it to be). It can be as simple as going for a walk down the road or going for an ice cream. You did it and your worth the time!
- Don’t beat yourself up if you sway off course. Go back to your “focus” list and visualize it done.
- When you wake up in the middle of the night worrying about what you have to do “focus” your attention on the outcome of the task and know that you will accomplish it in the future. No sense losing sleep over it.
- Be proud of yourself that you took the time to prepare your “focus” list and know it will all get done.
“Focus” and give it a try. By the way, I am so proud of you!

Public Speaking – Love and Fear all in One
Speaking in front of a crowd is one of the biggest fears that people have. Most of us talk to people all day long whether it be our co-workers, friends, family, shopping experiences and the list goes on but when it comes to standing in front of a crowd, whether it be 5 or 50 people we freeze. I have to admit up until 5 years ago I felt the same way but now I can stand in front of 5 or 500 people and it’s ok. I didn’t melt…. There still is the little flutter in my stomach but I have learned to overcome that and so can you!
Here are a few tips that I have learned along the way.
- Take a deep breath before you talk. Bring the air into your belly and this will relax you at the same time.
- View the audience as a few of your close friends around a campfire. They are happy to be with you and want to hear what you say.
- It’s ok to make mistakes. The audience won’t notice if you keep going. You can always make a joke about it. If you don’t make a big deal about it – your audience won’t either.
- Talk with passion. The more you love your topic the better you will present it because it’s yours. Your eyes and voice will tell the story if it’s your own story.
- Eye contact – try to meet a few people before your presentation and then find them in the audience. Speak to them. It makes it easier to deliver what you have to say if you find a familiar face in the crowd. This gets easier once you find your comfort level on stage.
- Be yourself. Don’t try to be someone you are not.
- Join a local Toastmaster Club. It is an amazing experience and you will learn so much http://www.toastmasters.org/
- Make it your story. When you tell your story from your heart you are sure to be a success
- Most important tip – HAVE FUN WITH IT!!!!
These are some tips that I use when I deliver my Motivational Presentations. Try them out – you might just surprise yourself.

Reiki – A Simple Explanation to A Different Type of Healing
I have to admit when someone first explained Reiki to me I thought they were a little crazy to be honest with you. The concept when I looked it up on the internet was one that was not logical to me at all but there was something inside of me that said “give it a try”. I am so grateful that I listened to my inner voice as I have never looked back. I thought I would try to explain the concept and benefits of Reiki in a way that I needed it explained at the beginning.
Reiki is a very difficult healing treatment to explain but once you have had a treatment you will completely understand….. (I am now a Reiki Master which means I have completed 3 levels of training and can now teach).
Each treatment, with each person, is a different experience. I have clients who come to see me and each time there is something new and different in the treatment.
I will give you the actual definition: Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Energy”.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM A TREATMENT? Anyone can benefit from a Reiki treatment. From children (my son Joseph suffers from terrible migraines since the age of 3 and this has been a blessing for him), to teenagers, pregnant women, adults, seniors, dogs, cats and horses.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE ISSUES THAT CAN BE WORKED ON? The benefits are numerous and are different for each person. Reiki benefits people with migraine headaches, back and neck pain (offering relief from the pain), fybromyalgia, sleep issues, stress, stress managment, grief from loss & depression, knee and joint pain relief. It helps people who have a “heavy heart” to clients who just do not feel connected to themselves or the world.
Of course, this never replaces the need for your professional care. This treatment compliments your current treatment.
WHAT DOES A TREATMENT FEEL LIKE? Everyone has their own experiences, but you have the feeling of peace and relaxation. Clients have told me they feel more “connected” to things in their life and are able to handle the stress of situations better. Some people feel a sensation of heat or cold from my hands, others see different color of lights and energy. Everyone has their own experience.
So why not give it a try. It might just be one of the best things you have ever done! It was for me..
Have a wonderful day.
