Being Grateful For Everything and Everyone in My Life, Dianne Adams Wisdom Words, Owen Sound, Ontario

Gratefulness by Dianne Adams of Wisdom Words

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE THAT GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL IN THIS CRAZY WORLD….

This is a question that I get quite often in my line of work and in my life.  There is so much pain and torment in the world and I feel truly blessed that I have the insight and passion to see what the positive side of life has to offer.  Now I am not saying that I never get down but I know that when I am in that state I know that it is for a reason and that everything will work out ok.

My passion in life is to help you feel good about yourself and realize that life is a gift and each moment is precious.  I want to help you when you feel that you just can’t find anything positive to say or feel in your life and to overcome that feeling and one day say “I too am grateful for everything and everyone in my life”.  Life is to be lived moment by moment and to learn from our mistakes.

I want to thank all of the people in my life who have challenged me, upset me and made me the person I am today.  There is a saying that the people who challenge you the most are your greatest teachers.  I want to thank the teachers in my life and to say I am who I am today because of it.

Spring Cleaning & New Beginnings – Take Some Time Out for Yourself

Cleaning from the Inside out With Wisdom Words

It’s that time again.  The snow has melted (depending where you live in the world), the birds are singing and the buds are just starting to appear on the the trees.  You step outside and feel a shift – a new beginning in the ever changing cycle of life.

For some there is a sense of change – a feeling that you need to “spring clean”.  This could mean going through our homes and getting into the corners removing “old stuff” that may have accumulated over the winter or going through “things” that you don’t need anymore.  There is great satisfaction at the end of our “spring cleaning”.  Everything feels new again.

When you are in this state it is also important to do some “internal spring cleaning”.  Sometimes we get so caught up in the physical aspect of our cleaning that we forget about what our body and soul need.

This is a reminder to all of you to take some time for yourself.  Go to the beach and take a walk in the sand (for us it’s the beautiful Sauble Beach located in Ontario), get your rubber boots on and take a walk through the trails.  Bruce County has some of the most beautiful trails in the world.  Have a massage or Reiki treatment or just take some time to read a book or meditate.

Remember spring is all about new beginnings and a new cycle.  Take the time for yourself in this cycle.  Your worth it!!!!

Being Comfortable With Being “Alone” – My “Alone” Experience With an Incredible Ending

We look at the word “alone” and can see it as a negative word at times. Some definitions of the word are “lonely, lonesome, solitary”.  What if you looked at it in a whole different light?   This is something I experienced last night while down hill skiing.

I have a routine with my kids. I pick them up with their friends after school and we head over to our local downhill ski hill in Collingwood. On our previous adventures I was always “part of the gang” skiing down the hills as a group, taking in the sites and enjoying a wonderful night out.

Well last night took a different turn and at the time (to be perfectly honest) I didn’t like how it was playing out. I am the “cool” Mom, the person the kids want to hang out with. Well last night I got a reality check – one I did not expect – I had an “alone experience”.

The kids decided to go on their own journey without me.  I felt “abandoned”.  My ego took a blow. I thought to myself  ”how can I ski for hours on end alone….”. So I bravely took my place in the “singles” line of the chair lift and started out on my journey all the while keeping up my pity party that was going on in my head all the way up the chair lift. Then….. I stopped myself from babbling, opened my eyes looked around at the beauty of my surroundings and realized I am not alone… I am never alone and I am embracing this amazing moment for what it is. After all that’s what I do in every other aspect of my life.

After I changed my outlook on the situation I had the time of my life. I went from ski hill to ski hill zooming down the powder snow taking in the spectacular view of Georgian Bay.

So anytime you feel that you have been abandoned stop for a moment and check out your surroundings and really spend some “alone” time with yourself. You just might become comfortable with being “alone” and have your own experience with an incredible ending!!!!!
